Small Cakes Recipe

Recipe for ~40 small cakes



Heat the oven to 180° C (~360 F, thermostat 6)

In a pan,melt the butter and let it cool.

Whip the egg-whites, just to make them frothy.

Add the icing sugar, the flour, the almond powder (some drops of bitter almond) and the melted butter.

Mix to obtain a smooth batter.

Put the batter in the moulds; you can add fruit, chocolate, marmalade, etc.

Bake the cakes for about 15 min.

Take out the cakes when they are golden.

It is possible to keep them several days.

They are delicious with tea or coffee!

egg-white is the white part of an egg   frothy [adj] means 'with froth'
golden [adj] with a gold colour   marmalade fruit preserve made with oranges
